Thailand to Investigate 27,000 Businesses in 2025 Amidst Economic Expansion and Rising Foreign Condo Ownership

Thailand to investigate 27,000 businesses in 2025 to tackle foreign nominee misuse and expand health and tourism hub in Eastern Economic Corridor.
To start off, Thailand's Department of Business Development is taking proactive measures by planning to investigate 27,000 businesses in 2025 to curb the misuse of Thai nominees by foreign entities. This extensive probe will focus on sectors like tourism and real estate, ensuring transparency in shareholding structures and company operations.

Speaking of development, Thailand is also expanding its Eastern Economic Corridor to include Prachin Buri, aiming to transform it into a health and tourism hub for seniors. This ambitious plan, requiring a royal decree, seeks to attract investments and create a haven for healthcare and tourism industries.

Meanwhile, as companies look toward 2025, the future of corporate learning and development is being shaped by trends that emphasize personalized learning paths. At a recent event in Thailand, leaders discussed how these customized learning opportunities align personal and career goals, fostering engagement and reducing turnover.

In the real estate market, foreign ownership of Thai condos has seen a notable rise, with over 3,756 units and 18.571 billion baht worth of transactions in the third quarter alone. This marks an increase in both units and value, reflecting growing interest from international buyers.

On a lighter note, the winter tourism season has kicked off in Loei province, where Phu Bo Bit mountain is drawing crowds with its spectacular sea mist and chilly 14-degree temperatures. Just a short trek from downtown Loei, this picturesque spot offers stunning vistas making it a popular destination for winter travelers.

Lastly, turning to the tech world, Huawei's launch of the Mate 70 with its new HarmonyOS Next system marks a bold stride in China's tech landscape amid US sanctions. This move not only highlights Huawei's innovative spirit but also points to the growing technological gap between China and the US.
