Transport Ministry to Launch 14 Projects Valued at ฿570 Billion Next Year
The Ministry of Transport in Thailand plans to launch 14 infrastructure projects with a total cost of 570 billion baht before the end of next year. The projects include:
1. A 167km dual track railway from Khon Kaen to Nong Khai estimated to cost 29.7 billion baht.
2. The 140 billion baht Orange Line train from Bang Khun Non to Min Buri, starting construction in May.
3. The expansion of a 4.5km section of Highway 4027, with a 510 million baht budget, starting in August.
4. A service center on the M7 between Chon Buri and Pattaya costing 1.6 billion baht, due to start in August.
5. The Bang Lamung service area on the M7, costing 766 million baht, set to begin in August.
6. A 4.5 billion baht extension of the M7 to connect with U-Tapao airport, starting in September.
7. Elevated roads at the junctions of highways 402, 4027, and 4025, with a budget of 2 billion baht, due to start in September.
8. A 6.4 billion baht Red Line extension from Rangsit to Thammasat University, beginning in September.
9. A 10.6 billion baht extension of the Red Line from Taling Chan to Salaya, also starting in September.
10. A 37.5 billion baht dual track railway between Chira Road and Ubon Ratchathani province, commencing in September.
11. The 4.6 billion baht Red Line extension from Taling Chan to Siriraj, due to start in September.
12. The Kathu-Pa Thong expressway in Phuket, with an estimated cost of 14.6 billion baht, starting in October.
13. The Chatuchote expressway and outer ring road with a 24 billion baht budget, set to begin in November.
14. The 300 billion baht Thai-Chinese high-speed train from Nakhon Ratchasima to Nong Khai, expected to start in December.
Additionally, Transport Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit mentioned the government's efforts to draw international investors to a significant land bridge project in southern Thailand.
