Amata Corporation Celebrates 50 Years of Sustainable Industrial Development

The Thai company continues its growth trajectory with a focus on eco-friendly industrial estates in Southeast Asia.
Amata Corporation, a prominent industrial developer based in Thailand, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

Known for its pioneering efforts in creating eco-friendly industrial estates, the company has reaffirmed its commitment to providing high-quality living and working environments in its parks.

Since its inception in the mid-1970s, Amata has expanded its operations across Thailand, Vietnam, and Laos, managing industrial parks that host over 1,500 factories and commercial outlets.

Under the leadership of Vikrom Kromadit, Chairman and Acting Chief Executive, the company has been instrumental in drawing global manufacturing companies to Southeast Asia, a region increasingly favored by investors amid geopolitical tensions.

Vikrom's journey began as a young graduate from Taiwan National University, where he first ventured into import-export and business consulting before entering the industrial estate business.

His vision for Amata has always been to create the 'most perfect cities possible', ensuring sustainability and financial stability through meticulous urban planning and management.

Central to Amata's mission is the emphasis on 'joyful living'.

The company is dedicated to developing industrial areas that harmonize with their natural surroundings, minimize carbon footprints, and foster excellent quality of life for the workers and entrepreneurs on site.

By incorporating advanced technologies to enhance energy efficiency and renewable energy use, Amata is setting new benchmarks in sustainable development.

In practical terms, the location of Amata's industrial estates is strategic, with easy access to major transport hubs like airports, seaports, and railway stations, enhancing their appeal to prospective investors.

Expanding its operations into Laos, Amata is working on a smart and eco-friendly industrial estate in Oudomxay province.

The planned development covers 130,000 rai and is close to the Namor railway station, a key transport link in the region.

The first phase, earmarked for agribusiness and food processing industries, is set to commence operations by the end of the year.

This development includes a prototype residential project aimed at providing housing for business people and their families, a move that underscores Amata's comprehensive approach to industrial estate development.

Looking ahead, Amata plans to expand its footprint by developing new industrial land in Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam to accommodate anticipated foreign investment.

With 15,000 rai available in Thailand alone, Amata's industrial parks such as Amata City Rayong and Amata City Chon Buri continue to attract significant interest, particularly from Japanese and Chinese companies, reflecting a shift in global manufacturing trends.

As Southeast Asia remains an attractive destination for investors looking to mitigate risks from global trade tensions, Amata's strategic positioning and unwavering focus on sustainability and quality of life remain significant pillars supporting its enduring success.
