Bodybuilder's Airport Prank Sparks Investigation Following Viral Clip
Preslie Ginoski is facing criticism following her posting of a video in which she performs push-ups on a plane engine at Sydney Airport, leading to an official investigation into safety.
Preslie Ginoski, a 23-year-old bodybuilder and fitness influencer, faced backlash for posting a video of himself doing push-ups inside a commercial jet engine at Sydney Airport.
The TikTok video, captioned 'Quick pump before flight,' has drawn widespread criticism for being seemingly irresponsible.
Originally filmed last year, the footage re-emerged over the weekend and quickly gained traction online.
Officials at Sydney Airport condemned the stunt, highlighting their strict zero-tolerance approach to unsafe actions on the airfield.
A representative from the airport emphasized that ensuring the safety of passengers, employees, and operations is their top priority, and they have launched an investigation into the incident.
In light of the outcry, Mr. Ginoski defended his conduct, asserting that he had taken safety measures prior to recording the video.
He clarified in an interview with the Daily Mail that the video was meant to be lighthearted and not serious.
Mr. Ginoski noted that the plane was stationary and not set to move until the following day, and that the engine was off during the stunt.
He added that any visible movement in the engine was due to wind.
The video was filmed in June 2024 while Mr. Ginoski was working at the airport, and he shared it online after leaving his job.
Despite his explanations, Sydney Airport continues to probe the issue, reiterating its dedication to maintaining stringent safety protocols.
