Fengshui Master Arrested for Alleged 100 Million Baht Fraud
Popular Figure Accused of Failing to Deliver Promised Auspicious Objects
Thanawan Jiracharoenwes, a well-known fengshui master with a significant social media following, was arrested in Pathum Thani, just north of Bangkok, on Monday for alleged fraud involving approximately 100 million baht.
The arrest was made following a warrant issued by the Criminal Court.
Thanawan is accused of deceiving his clients by encouraging them to purchase costly 'auspicious objects' and participate in ceremonies to improve their fortunes.
However, many of these promised items were reportedly never delivered.
Among the victims is a 77-year-old woman who claims she lost around 60 million baht.
Altogether, about 50 complaints have been filed with the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) in Bangkok, as Thanawan remains under investigation for public fraud.
