HP is engaging suppliers to support this transition and aims to achieve its objectives within two to three years.
An internal goal of producing up to 70% of notebooks outside China has been set.
At least five suppliers are constructing new manufacturing facilities or warehouse hubs in Thailand, with some already expanding capacity.
HP is also establishing a backup design hub in Singapore.
This move is motivated by US-China tensions and COVID-19 disruptions, with executives highlighting opportunities in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
