Malaysia Joins Southeast Asia’s Halloween 2025 Line-Up With Haunted Parks and Family-Friendly Spook Shows
Malaysia will join Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Hong Kong in a region-wide wave of Halloween events including haunted houses, costumed parades and theme-park thrills
As the spookiest season of the year approaches, Malaysia is emerging as a major player in Southeast Asia’s Halloween 2025 celebrations.
Alongside Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Hong Kong, the country is set to offer a lively mix of haunted attractions, family-friendly trick-or-treat experiences and immersive theme-park scares.
In Kuala Lumpur, Sunway Lagoon’s “Nights of Fright 2025” will run from September 26 to November 2, with haunted houses, scare zones and thrill rides creating a high-energy Halloween festival atmosphere.
The organisers say the 11th edition of the event is Malaysia's largest horror-themed festival.
For families, Legoland Malaysia Resort in Johor Bahru is hosting “Brick-or-Treat Monster Party” from early October to early November, featuring LEGO-themed costumes, trick-or-treating zones and live shows.
Meanwhile, Genting Highlands transforms into “The Haunted Highlands,” with misty mountain backdrops, eerie characters and night-time haunted zones.
Across urban centres, Kuala Lumpur shopping malls and event venues are staging themed parties and costume contests geared at children and adults alike.
From glow runs to rooftop DJ sets in haunted décor, Malaysia offers Halloween experiences that range from playful to spine-tingling.
This broad spectrum of festivities complements regional celebrations.
Singapore will host its annual Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios and “Deadly Disco” events; Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City is staging street-based costume festivals on major walking streets; Thailand is blending modern haunted-house events in Bangkok and Chiang Mai with its own traditional ghost-festivals; Indonesia adds a pop-culture twist with October comic-anime conventions and Jakarta-based cosplay Halloween blends; and Hong Kong brings shopping-district trick-or-treating, haunted-mall parties and Disney-themed spooky nights.
For Malaysia, the Halloween season is now firmly integrated into its calendar of major events and serves both local entertainment markets and inbound tourism demand.
The country’s diverse offerings—from high-adrenaline horror parks to child-friendly costume parades—reflect a growing appetite for themed tourism experiences.
As the region shares spooky season energy, Malaysia ensures that it will be a destination capable of pleasing both thrill-seekers and families alike.
With ticketed haunted-house experiences, family trick-or-treat programmes, themed runs and costumed street events now scheduled, Malaysia’s Halloween 2025 season is poised for strong local and tourist engagement throughout October and into early November.
