Singapore and Thailand Collaborate on Food Security
Singapore and Thailand are collaborating on food security and sustainability. During a meeting between senior officials, Singapore shared its Green Plan 2030, and Thailand presented its BCG model policy. Both countries are looking to sign agreements on projects like seabass farming and carbon credits.
Singapore's Stanley Loh, the permanent secretary of the Sustainability and Environment Ministry, met with Prayoon Insakul, Thailand's Agriculture Ministry permanent secretary, to discuss cooperation on food security.
During their meeting, Loh presented the Singapore Green Plan 2030, while Prayoon introduced Thailand's BCG (bio, circular, and green) model policy.
Both parties expressed interest in signing memoranda of understanding that would include initiatives such as seabass farming studies and the exchange of knowledge on developing a carbon credit system.
