US Companies Urge Reduction of Vietnamese Tariffs Amid Trade Shift
Listen
Businesses seek relief from 46% tariffs imposed under Trump administration
American companies are lobbying for the reduction of a 46% tariff on Vietnamese goods, imposed by the Trump administration in April 2025.
The tariff, one of the highest after China, was introduced as part of a strategy to encourage fair trade practices.
However, US businesses argue that the levy hampers their operations and undermines efforts to diversify supply chains away from China.
Discussions between US and Vietnamese leaders are ongoing to address the trade imbalance and explore potential tariff adjustments.
