Thai badminton players Ratchanok Intanon and Kunlavut Vitidsarn won the women’s and men’s singles titles at the Indonesia Masters 2025. Ratchanok, a former world champion, triumphed with a straight-game victory over South Korea’s Sim Yu Jin, securing her third Indonesia Masters title with a score of 21-18, 21-17. This win propelled her back into the world’s top 10 rankings.
Meanwhile, Kunlavut, ranked world No. 5, defeated Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie, the 2023 champion, in a thrilling 77-minute contest, rallying from a game down to win 18-21, 21-17, 21-18. Kunlavut’s victory marked his breakthrough at the tournament and solidified his standing among badminton’s elite.
The pair’s success marks a strong start for Thai badminton in 2025. As they prepare for the Princess Sirivannavari Thailand Masters 2025, a BWF World Tour Super 300 event, their performances have garnered praise from Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, President of the Badminton Association of Thailand, who highlighted their dedication and resilience.
The Thailand Masters will take place in Bangkok from January 28 to February 2, with a prize pool of USD 240,000.
