New regulations to allow flexibility in scout attire for school events
The Education Ministry of Thailand has announced forthcoming changes to regulations regarding scouting attire, providing more flexibility for students.
Education Minister Pol Gen Permpoon Chidchob revealed that the National Scout Executive Committee is crafting a regulation to allow two types of attire: regular uniforms and casual wear.
The updated rules will permit children to attend scout events in their ordinary school attire, alleviating the need for additional scouting uniforms.
The move aims to ease the burden on both teachers and students, especially in rural areas, where schools may choose to have students wear a scout hat and scarf with their school uniforms to reduce costs.
While casual wear will be an option for informal events, students are encouraged to don traditional uniforms for formal occasions, such as National Scout Day.
This initiative also allows ethnic students to wear cultural dress, promoting inclusivity and respect for diverse traditions.
