Thailand has welcomed over 21 million foreign tourists in 2024, generating 1 trillion baht, according to Tourism Minister Sermsak Pongpanich.
From January 1 to August 11, 21,796,763 foreign tourists visited Thailand, spending approximately 1.03 trillion baht.
The top nationalities of visitors include Chinese (4,398,623), Malaysians (3,021,624), Indians (1,255,358), South Koreans (1,154,990), and Russians (1,035,192).
The Obon Festival in Japan, along with public holidays in India and Malaysia, increased tourist arrivals last week.
Additionally, European summer school breaks contributed to a 1.52% rise in arrivals from distant countries.
The past week saw 751,419 foreign visitors, a 5.8% increase from the previous week.
