Thailand Urges Citizens to Return Amid Escalating Middle East Conflict
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises Thai nationals to monitor safety conditions and prepare for potential evacuation as tensions rise between Israel and Iran.
Nikorndej Balankura, Director-General of the Department of Information and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has issued a public statement regarding the escalating conflict in the Middle East, particularly highlighting the ongoing exchanges of attacks between Israel and Iran.
The Thai government has expressed deep concern over the widening impact and increasing scale of hostilities in the region.
In his statement, Nikorndej emphasized the importance of maximum restraint from all involved parties to prevent further deterioration of the situation, which poses significant risks to innocent civilians caught in the conflict.
The Ministry has advised Thai nationals currently in conflict zones to remain vigilant and to keep abreast of safety advisories and emergency instructions released by Thai embassies in the region.
Thai citizens are encouraged to contact the nearest embassy for immediate assistance in the event of an emergency.
Furthermore, the spokesperson urged Thais to refrain from all non-essential travel to high-risk areas and strongly recommended that those in conflict zones consider leaving as soon as airspace reopens.
The Thai government is closely monitoring the situation and continues to prioritize the safety and well-being of its citizens abroad.
