Thai Military Rejects False Reports of Troop Withdrawal Along Border
The news about it on social media was fake. Second Army Region commander reaffirms strong military presence and urges public to reject misinformation
Lieutenant General Boonsin Padklang, Commander of Thailand’s Second Army Region, has denied reports circulating online that falsely claim he ordered the withdrawal of troops stationed along the country’s border.
He emphasized that no such order has ever been issued and that the claims are fabricated.
“These allegations are completely false and represent fake news,” said Lt Gen Boonsin.
“The wording used in these posts has been intentionally distorted to mislead the public and create confusion.”
He warned that the spread of such misinformation could disrupt public order and potentially undermine national security.
Addressing the public, Boonsin reaffirmed the Thai Army’s ongoing commitment to national defense, stating that soldiers remain fully mobilized, maintaining round-the-clock readiness to safeguard the country’s sovereignty.
“The Thai military stands firm in its duty.
Our troops are motivated, fully operational, and continue their patrol and security responsibilities as usual,” he stated.
He called on the public to refrain from sharing or forwarding unverified content and urged citizens to verify facts before accepting or distributing such information.
Boonsin also confirmed that the situation along the border remains stable and that military operations are continuing without interruption.
