Michelin has awarded eight hotels in Thailand with its highest three keys rating. Notable winners include Mandarin Oriental Bangkok and Samujana Villas in Koh Samui, which will feature in the third season of the White Lotus series. This recognition is expected to support Thailand's booming tourism industry, which targets 36.7 million visitors this year.
In its inaugural list for Thailand, Michelin has recognized eight hotels with the prestigious three keys rating, signifying 'an extraordinary stay.' The winners span across multiple regions including Bangkok, Surat Thani, Krabi, Trat, and Chiang Mai.
Key winning hotels include Mandarin Oriental Bangkok, The Siam Bangkok, and Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai.
This year, a total of 58 hotels received Michelin ratings: 19 earned two keys and 31 earned one key.
Michelin Guide’s lodging equivalent of stars for restaurants, the 'keys,' were assessed based on architecture, service, personality, value, and contribution to the setting.
The anonymous inspectors aim to spotlight exceptional accommodation options ranging from urban oases to secluded forest retreats.
Notably, the luxury hotel Samujana Villas in Koh Samui is set to feature in Season Three of the White Lotus series.
The accolade is expected to benefit Thailand’s significant tourism sector, which aims to attract 36.7 million tourists in 2023.
Currently, the country has seen 25 million arrivals, reflecting a 31% increase from the previous year.
