Bangkok Earthquake: Nearly 6,000 building damages reported, overpasses and bridges declared safe
Additionally, 81 overpasses and bridges in the city have been confirmed as safe, with no reported damage or traffic disruptions.
The number of reported building damages from yesterday's earthquake has surged to nearly 6,000 cases.
Buildings exceeding eight stories in height, as well as those subject to annual inspections, are set to undergo further checks.
These assessments will verify whether any identified cracks compromise structural integrity.
If uncertainty arises regarding a building's safety, supplementary inspections will be conducted.
In cases where structural damage is confirmed, the affected buildings will be deemed uninhabitable.
Volunteer engineers are providing support with the inspection efforts, with 700 cases necessitating on-site visits to assess the extent of the damage.
