China Media Group (CMG) has released a specially composed song titled "Thai-Chinese Brotherhood Chain" to honor Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand.
The song, written in Thai and produced by composer Sarawut Lertpanyanuch, integrates traditional Thai and Chinese instruments, including the ranat ek and guzheng.
It is available for streaming online.
Princess Sirindhorn has played a significant role in fostering Thai-Chinese relations.
She has visited China over 50 times, engaging in cultural and educational exchanges.
In 2019, she was awarded China's Friendship Medal.
Her literary contributions include translating Chinese poetry into Thai and composing original works that emphasize the enduring friendship between the two nations.
One of her poems includes the line: "Chinese and Thai are brothers; our fraternity lasts forever."
As part of the 50th-anniversary celebrations, Princess Sirindhorn met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing on April 11, 2025. During the meeting, Wang conveyed President Xi Jinping's greetings to King Maha Vajiralongkorn and expressed condolences for the recent earthquake in Thailand.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation in areas such as agriculture, technology, and culture.
The anniversary has been marked by various events, including cultural performances and exhibitions in both countries.
In Bangkok, celebrations featured traditional music and dance performances, showcasing the shared heritage and ongoing collaboration between China and Thailand.
