Electric vehicles take center stage at the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show
At the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS), electric vehicles (EVs), particularly from prominent Chinese manufacturers, are capturing the spotlight.
This event, marking a significant rebound to pre-COVID levels, features 49 global automotive brands from continents including Europe, the US, Japan, Korea, India, China, and Vietnam.
Noteworthy, Vietnam's VinFast exhibits its electric VF7 SUV and VF Wild concept pickup, without conducting sales. The show promises over 20 new model unveilings.
Also drawing attention are the 'Hyper Concept' cars like the Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven and Nissan Hyper Tourer Concept, which highlight innovation in design and technology.
This year's BIMS, running from March 27 to April 7, 2024, at Challenger Hall, Muang Thong Thani, has expanded its space to 76,000 square meters, up from 60,000 square meters, under the theme “The Mobility of Joyful Experiences.”
The show's organizer, CEO Prachin Eamlumnow of Grand Prix International Plc, underscores the commitment to eco-friendly technology and business opportunities.
With an optimistic view, the organizers expect a 15-20% rise in attendance and bookings, reflecting the positive industry outlook and the inclusion of new manufacturers.
Last year, BIMS attracted 1.62 million visitors and saw motorcycle bookings jump by 56.7%. The 45th BIMS highlights a range of electric models from luxury to more accessible options, including Rolls-Royce's first electric model, the Spectre, and Changan's Lumin Mini EV.
VinFast introduces its electric SUV VF7 and concept pickup, while Honda Motorcycle reveals its electric scooter MotoCompacto and the hands-free Uni-One wheelchair. Additionally, XPeng presents a unicorn-themed robotic toy, appealing to younger visitors.
The arrival of Chinese and Vietnamese EV manufacturers introduces more diversity to Thailand's car market, offering consumers a wide range of choices at various price points.
The BIMS serves as an ideal platform for exploring and comparing the latest automotive trends, models, and deals, making it a key event for car enthusiasts and potential buyers.
