Consumer protection police seized counterfeit powdered milk and other food supplement products worth 18 million baht, smuggled from Vietnam.
Six migrant employees were arrested during a raid on a warehouse in Samut Prakan’s Phra Pradaeng district.
The raid followed the discovery of misleading online advertisements claiming exaggerated benefits of these products.
Officers found approximately 20,000 cans of powdered milk, along with various food supplements, unregistered medicines, and vitamins.
The products, sold for one thousand ninety to one thousand one hundred ninety baht per can, were advertised as top-sellers in New Zealand and falsely certified by the US FDA.
Vietnamese nationals orchestrated the smuggling and storage operations, shifting locations to evade Thai authorities’ inspections.
