Kongkrapan Intarajang, the new CEO of PTT, outlined his vision for the company during his first media statement on May 13.
He emphasized the importance of Thailand's transition to clean and green energy, in line with global efforts and the Thai government's targets of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065.
PTT aims to enhance natural gas production efficiency and reduce carbon emissions while prioritizing hydrogen power as a green solution for the industrial sector.
Despite high production costs, PTT sees potential in hydrogen technology for Thailand and is working to establish hydrogen infrastructure across the country.
Additionally, PTT is investing in Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology to support decarbonization.
The company is focusing on both hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon businesses, with emphasis on electric vehicles, life sciences, logistics, and digital/AI.
Kongkrapan highlighted PTT's strategy as 'BALANCED SUSTAINABILITY,' which aims for positive economic, social, environmental, and governance impacts.
He acknowledged potential challenges in pilot models but stressed PTT's commitment to flexibility, agility, and accountability in adapting to global uncertainties.
