The visit aimed to document damage to civilian infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, petrol stations, and convenience stores, reportedly caused during recent border clashes. The inspection was organized by the Army Public Relations Centre (APRC) and included attachés from 23 countries and over 200 journalists, beginning at Wing 6 Airfield in Bangkok.
The delegation first visited a hospital and civilian areas said to be hit during the latest escalation. Thai military officials presented evidence and briefed attendees on what they describe as Cambodia’s violations of a fragile ceasefireagreement.
The group then travelled to Ban Mue in Si Sa Ket Province, where Cambodian forces launched a rocket attack on a convenience store and a PTT petrol station. The RTA reports the attack killed eight Thai civilians, including a child aged around seven or eight, and injured ten others.
The tour continued to Phum Charon Witthaya School and Ban Chameng Health Promoting Hospital in Sao Thong Chai sub-district, both reportedly damaged in the conflict. It concluded at the Kantharalak Technical College, which currently serves as a temporary shelter for displaced civilians.
