What is confirmed is that Sun Mingchen, a 31-year-old Chinese national, was already under arrest in Thailand following the discovery of a large cache of military-grade weapons, explosives, and ammunition at properties connected to him in Chonburi province.

The initial investigation began after a traffic incident that led police to uncover firearms in a vehicle, which then triggered a wider search of rented residences.

Authorities later seized assault rifles, grenades, detonators, and explosives, prompting charges related to illegal possession of war weapons and endangerment concerns.
