The coffee chain reports a 97.4% revenue increase in 2023 and plans to expand to 600 branches by 2025.
Thai coffee brand 'Punthai,' a subsidiary of PTG Energy's non-oil segment, announced a substantial increase in revenue, reaching 2,575 million baht for the fiscal year 2023. This marks a 97.4% growth compared to 2022, in alignment with the broader expansion of Thailand's coffee market.
The company has set ambitious goals to achieve sales of 5.8 billion baht and expand to 600 branches by the end of 2025.
Sukhawasa Phuchatchawanichkul, the managing director of Punthai Coffee Limited, highlighted the continuous growth of the Thai coffee market, which is valued at over 60 billion baht.
She attributes this growth to high consumer demand for diverse coffee flavors and the rising importance of premium quality coffee.
Punthai has pursued an aggressive marketing strategy to cater to various consumer segments, ranging from outdoor coffee enthusiasts to home brewers, premium, and specialty coffee markets, the latter showing significant growth in Thailand.
In 2023, Punthai successfully expanded its reach by engaging with new consumer groups through a partnership with popular South Korean travel YouTuber, Callan-Pee Jong, as their brand ambassador.
This collaboration has helped to attract a younger audience, bolstering their customer base.
In line with these developments, Punthai's branch network has grown by 52% compared to the previous year, with 1,347 branches currently in operation across the nation.
The company plans to continue its expansion, setting a goal of 146 new branches in the first quarter of 2025, aiming for a total of 5,000 locations nationwide by 2028.
Under their new brand tagline, '#PunthaiEverythingIsPossible,' the company emphasizes its innovative spirit and commitment to Thai culture.
Punthai showcases its creative Thai Taste menu, offering unique specialty coffee experiences such as 'Thai-Ricano,' a Thai Twist on Americano made from 100% Thai Arabica beans sourced from premium locations in Mae Hong Son province.
Additionally, Punthai is embarking on international collaborations to promote Thai coffee globally.
An artistic project featuring Thai-Ricano story on limited edition coffee cups has been launched, in collaboration with Supachai Phutthikulangkul, a world-renowned illustrator.
The company plans to host various events to introduce its specialty coffee and unique artistic endeavors on an international level, while continuing to honor and incorporate Thai culture and agricultural practices into its products.
