Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra outlines a strategy to boost Thailand’s industrial sector through AI, green technology, and global trade expansion at the FTI Expo in Bangkok.
At the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) Expo 2025 in Bangkok, held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre from February 12 to 15, Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra reaffirmed her government’s commitment to strengthening Thailand’s industrial sector.
In her keynote address, the PM highlighted the importance of the industrial sector as one of the three main drivers of the nation’s GDP and introduced a strategic framework that aligns with the FTI’s 4GO strategy.
This framework encompasses GO Digital, which focuses on artificial intelligence development and digital infrastructure; GO Innovation, aimed at future industries such as semiconductors; GO Green, which emphasizes environmental responsibility; and GO Global, which targets the expansion of international trade agreements.
The PM noted recent achievements including the signing of the Thai-EU Free Trade Agreement at the World Economic Forum on January 23, marking the first free trade agreement with the European Free Trade Association, with further agreements in progress with EU countries and the United Arab Emirates.
She also stressed the government’s focus on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, which account for seventy-five percent of Thai businesses.
FTI Chairman Kriengkrai Thiennukul described the expo as a crucial platform for expanding marketing channels for Thai products and innovations.
The four-day event, covering over twenty thousand square metres and divided into seven zones including Innovation Showcase and Future Trend, is expected to attract more than seventy thousand visitors and generate trade opportunities exceeding one billion baht.
A notable highlight of the expo is the daily demonstration of the Silver Hawk Passenger Drone, Thailand's first domestically produced and Made in Thailand-certified passenger drone, showcased at the Saraswati Courtyard near the convention centre.
In addition, the FTI chairman announced the establishment of a One Innovation Council and plans to work with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation to develop a national AI roadmap.
The expo is open daily from ten in the morning to seven in the evening until its conclusion on Saturday.
