Thailand Announces Extra Holidays for 2025 to Boost Tourism
Government adds three long weekends to promote tourism next year
In a move to bolster tourism, the Thai government has designated three additional public holidays in 2025.
Commerce Minister Phumtham Wechayachai, acting as deputy prime minister, announced the decision following a Cabinet meeting.
The new holidays are set for June 2, August 11, 2025, and January 2, 2026, aligning with key national celebrations.
This initiative supports the 'Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025' campaign.
The added days will extend existing holidays to create long weekends, such as a four-day weekend for the Queen’s birthday in June and another for National Mothers’ Day in August.
A five-day break will also cover New Year's celebrations, from December 31, 2025, to January 4, 2026.
