The Thai Cabinet announced the extension of pre-travel visa exemptions to tourists from 36 additional countries, totaling 93 countries eligible for up to 60 days stay in Thailand.
Government Spokesman Chai Wacharonke highlighted that now 31 countries can apply for Visa on Arrival at points of entry.
The government introduced the 'Destination Thailand Visa' for skilled foreigners and freelancers, allowing 180-day stays, extendable by another 180 days.
Thai undergraduates can also stay for one year post-graduation.
Thailand's reputation was recently bolstered by its efficient response to an emergency landing of a Singapore Airlines flight at Suvarnabhumi Airport, praised by Singapore's Prime Minister.
