Cooler Temperatures Expected From October to February
Thailand has commenced its four-month winter season as of Tuesday, prompted by a high-pressure system moving in from China.
According to the Meteorological Department, the cooler period is predicted to last until mid-February.
This change brings a temperature drop of 2-4 degrees Celsius in the Northeast and upper North regions, and 1-3°C in the Central Plain and upper South, lasting through the week.
Thunderstorms and strong winds may affect these areas, while the eastern southern coast near the Gulf of Thailand could see increased rainfall due to cooler winds.
Forecasts suggest average lows of 20-21°C, slightly cooler than last year's average of 21.6°C.
Notably, the Doi Inthanon National Park in Chiang Mai, a popular winter destination, is undergoing preparations, including cleaning of the Kiew Mae Pan nature trail.
