New System to Improve Efficiency at Six Airports Starting December 1
Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) will implement its Biometric Identification System for both domestic and international passengers beginning on December 1.
This system will be operational at six AOT airports: Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Chiang Mai, Mae Fah Luang–Chiang Rai, Phuket, and Hat Yai.
The initiative is designed to enhance passenger convenience, expedite processes, and significantly reduce waiting times at service points from approximately three minutes to just one minute.
To register, passengers can request assistance from airline staff at check-in counters to enroll their facial data and travel document information into the biometric system via the boarding pass scanner.
