Vice President J.D. Vance delivered a forceful message during a guest appearance on “The Charlie Kirk Show,” declaring that there can be “no unity” with people who celebrate or excuse the killing of Charlie Kirk.

He specified that unity is impossible with those who scream at children over their parents’ politics, lie about what Charlie Kirk said to justify his murder, harass grieving families, or celebrate the assassination.

Vance condemned what he called the radical left’s embrace of political violence, and asserted that people who fund media and institutions sympathetic to those views are also part of the problem.

He expressed sorrow and a longing for national unity, but insisted it depends on refusing to tolerate extremist ideas and actions.

Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist, was fatally shot last week while speaking at a university event.

Vance accompanied Kirk’s body from Utah to Arizona aboard Air Force Two.

In the wake of Kirk’s death, Vance said that some individuals—especially among the political left—had reacted in ways that excused the killing or misrepresented Kirk’s words.

He called for Americans to call out such behavior, including reporting people to their employers if they publicly celebrated political violence.

Vance also pledged that the administration will use all available federal resources to dismantle networks and institutions that promote and enable political violence.

He named nonprofits, media outlets, and funders he believes are complicit in creating an environment where attacks can happen.

He emphasized that honoring Kirk’s memory involves more than mourning—it demands confronting hard truths about ideological extremism in public discourse and taking action to ensure political speech does not become a cover for violence.
