Jobsdb by SEEK Intensifies Efforts to Combat Job Scams in Thailand
Enhanced screening measures implemented as Department of Employment reports over six hundred scam cases in fiscal year twenty twenty-four.
Jobsdb by SEEK has introduced enhanced measures to detect and remove fraudulent job advertisements from its platform amid a rise in job scams in Thailand.
The digital job portal reported that between July twenty twenty-three and June twenty twenty-four it reviewed approximately four point nine million job ads across the Asia-Pacific region, flagging around ten percent for further investigation.
Over one thousand four hundred high-risk employers were identified and blocked, and more than one thousand two hundred fraudulent advertisements were removed following internal checks and community reports.
These actions come as Thailand’s Department of Employment reported 608 cases of defrauded job seekers in fiscal year twenty twenty-four, resulting in losses of about forty-four million baht.
In the first quarter of fiscal year twenty twenty-five, an additional 53 cases were reported, leading to losses exceeding six million baht.
The department, alongside other authorities, has intensified efforts to prosecute brokers and educate job seekers on verifying recruitment agencies through official channels.
Jobsdb by SEEK is working in collaboration with local authorities to strengthen data protection and monitor cyber threats, aiming to maintain a secure online job marketplace as the job market in Thailand continues to expand.
