LINE Launches New Premium Service Amid Expansion Plans in Thailand

LINE Thailand unveils LINE PREMIUM along with other innovative services aimed at enhancing digital communication and user experience.
In a significant development for digital communication in Thailand, LINE Corporation has announced the launch of LINE PREMIUM at the LINE CONFERENCE THAILAND 2025 (LCT25).

The new subscription service, offered at a monthly fee of 169 THB, allows users to store messages, images, documents, and videos indefinitely, catering to the growing demand for efficient digital storage solutions.

Narasee Sittiwetchaviraj, the Chief Operating Officer of LINE Thailand, emphasized the company's mission evolution from 'Closing The Distance' to a new vision: 'Create an amazing life platform that brings WOW! to our users.' This shift indicates LINE's commitment to developing a comprehensive digital platform tailored for its users.

The platform aims to leverage its chat features and a strategy focused on hyper-localization to reach its audience of 56 million Thais.

The introduction of LINE PREMIUM is part of a broader strategy that includes three new services slated for launch within the year:

LINE PREMIUM - This subscription service enhances the user chat experience with features like the ability to customize app icons, font alterations, multiple profiles for different social circles, and a backup feature that allows the storage of high volumes of data, with up to 100 GB of space.

It will be available for subscription in the second quarter of this year.

LINE GIFT - Designed to redefine gifting through an e-gifting platform, LINE GIFT will introduce 'Social Gifting,' allowing users to send e-vouchers and products directly through chat.

The service also offers customization options for the recipient and includes a wish list feature for better gift selection, expected to launch in the latter half of the year.

LINE HEALTH - Aimed at improving access to healthcare services, LINE HEALTH will connect users with online medical providers.

It includes services from Health At Work for health consultations and connections to leading health insurance options, along with mental health services from OOCA.

The service is currently in a trial phase, with plans for a full launch and an accompanying Health Shop for wellness products.

Additionally, LINE is unveiling global strategies to penetrate the Thai market, including initiatives from its IP Business segment.

This encompasses IPX, previously known as LINE FRIENDS, which has transformed into a creative studio for character development.

LINE WEBTOON, a major webtoon platform, is also expanding its IP-related business utilizing its content.

At LCT25, LINE also introduced LINE MINIAPP, allowing developers to build their own applications within the LINE platform, facilitating easier access for users.

The LINE DEVELOPER PARTNER program aims to support Thai developers by providing comprehensive resources, marketing assistance, and collaboration opportunities with leading corporate partners.

These announcements signify LINE’s efforts to enhance user engagement and expand its footprint in Thailand’s digital landscape, promising an array of innovative features and services for its growing user base.
