Paetongtarn Shinawatra Tops Popularity in Suan Dusit Poll
Prime Minister Leads with Over 50% Public Support
In October, Suan Dusit University conducted a political survey which revealed that Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra is the most popular coalition politician, securing over 52% public support.
The survey included 2,136 respondents nationwide from October 25 to 30.
The study showed several improvements in government performance indices compared to September.
The overall Thai political index rose to 5.01, with notable increases in public safety (5.00), policy enforcement (5.14), and political stability (5.10).
The survey rates various aspects of government and opposition performance on a scale of 1 to 10, highlighting an increase in ratings for tackling corruption (4.71), unemployment (4.69), and poverty (4.67).
Among coalition politicians, Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Energy Minister Pirapan Salirathavibhaga followed Paetongtarn in popularity.
On the opposition side, favorite politicians included People’s Party leader Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut, MP Sirikanya Tansakun, and MP Rangsiman Rome.
Respondents praised the government's flood alleviation efforts, economic stimulus, and assistance for students affected by a bus fire as significant achievements.
