SEC Raids Fintech Exhibition in Bangkok for Unlicensed Activities

In response to public and stakeholder reports, officials conducted a joint operation on September 7 at a fintech exhibition in Bangkok, investigating unlicensed securities firms, derivatives business operators, and digital asset business operators, including foreign entities.
Prior to the event, the SEC had alerted the venue owner and event organiser.
On-site inspections revealed numerous exhibitors engaged in unlicensed activities, prompting the SEC to collaborate with relevant authorities due to the organiser's delayed response.
The investigation examined 10 exhibitors and gathered further evidence, with potential legal actions to follow if SEC regulations were violated.
SEC Deputy Secretary-General Jomkwan Kongsakul highlighted the proactive approach to ensure swift law enforcement, safeguarding the public and investors.
