First Drone Research Centre in Southern Thailand to Open
Prince of Songkla University in Southern Thailand will open its first Drone Research and Training Centre next month. It will train drone pilots and promote UAV applications in various fields. The centre will collaborate with external partners and open in mid-October.
Prince of Songkla University’s (PSU) Faculty of Engineering will inaugurate Southern Thailand's first Drone Research and Training Centre next month.
The centre, led by Chukree Daesa, an engineering lecturer and director of PSU's engineering centre for UAVs, aims to provide academic services and training for drone pilots.
It will promote UAV applications in agriculture, medicine, public health, meteorology, and infrastructure development.
The PSU-UAV centre is collaborating with PSU Science Park, Pulse Science Co Ltd, and Aero Technology Industry Co Ltd. Memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with these partners will be signed, and the centre will open in mid-October.
Its first mission is to offer certification courses for drone pilots with UAVs weighing 2kg or more.
