Japanese real estate firm Hankyu Hanshin Properties Corp has established a joint venture with Thai company Sena Development to focus on future residential projects.
This collaboration follows a seven-year partnership involving 66 projects valued at a total of 83 billion baht.
Despite the current unfavourable housing market, Hankyu remains confident in Thailand's residential sector and its long-term growth.
Since 2016, Hankyu has invested ¥25 billion (approximately 6.3-6.5 billion baht) in joint ventures with Sena, making Thailand their largest investment destination in Southeast Asia.
Sena HHP Co, founded in August 2023 with a registered capital of one million baht, saw its capital rise to 422 million baht after Hankyu's co-investment in February 2024.
The joint venture aims to make investments more efficient, control costs, and accelerate operations by adopting centralised financial management and innovations from Hankyu.
