Thailand and Canva Forge Strategic Partnership to Elevate Digital Learning Nationwide
New memorandum ushers in expanded use of Canva’s digital design tools in Thai schools, aiming to strengthen creativity, collaboration and 21st-century skills for teachers and students
Thailand has signed a new memorandum of understanding with Canva, the global visual communication platform, as part of a concerted effort to enhance digital literacy and creative learning across the country.
The agreement was formalised in Bangkok between Thailand’s Office of the Private Education Commission and Canva Thailand, marking a milestone in the government’s drive to modernise education with advanced digital tools and support for private schools.
The initiative is designed to support educators and learners in creating engaging, high-quality digital educational content that aligns with international standards and builds essential digital competencies for the future.
Under the agreement, Canva will work closely with private schools nationwide to implement training and capacity-building programmes for teachers, educational personnel and students.
This includes technical support in Thai, development of ‘Train the Trainer’ and ‘Canvassador’ programmes to cultivate local expertise, and the establishment of shared teaching resources and collaborative platforms.
The partnership underscores Canva’s vision of educational equity by providing premium design tools free of charge to participating institutions, enabling educators to focus on classroom engagement rather than administrative tasks and empowering students to develop strong visual communication and digital-creation skills.
Officials highlighted that the collaboration supports broader educational goals aimed at transitioning from traditional paper-based instruction to dynamic, digitally enabled learning environments.
The initiative will include annual assessments to track outcomes and ensure its long-term impact, alongside nationwide activities such as competitions to inspire innovation and creativity.
Thai education authorities view the agreement as a strategic step in preparing students for a rapidly evolving digital economy, where creativity, adaptability and technological fluency are increasingly vital.
