This collision of air masses is expected to trigger widespread instability from around April 23 to April 26, bringing thunderstorms, gusty winds, lightning, and isolated hail.
The storms are forecast to initially affect the northeastern and eastern regions before extending to central provinces, including areas around the capital.
Weather specialists describe the pattern as typical of the transitional phase between peak dry-season heat and the early onset of seasonal rainfall dynamics, when atmospheric instability becomes more pronounced.
In addition to storm activity, daytime temperatures are expected to remain high ahead of the system’s arrival, with several provinces in the north and northeast recently experiencing peak heat conditions approaching the low 40s Celsius.
Health authorities have advised the public to avoid prolonged outdoor exposure during peak daytime hours due to heat stress risks, while also preparing for sudden severe weather changes.
Maritime conditions are also expected to deteriorate temporarily during storm periods, with wave heights in affected areas of the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea forecast to exceed two metres in thundershower zones.
