United Airlines Re-Establishes U.S.–Thailand Connectivity with New Los Angeles–Bangkok Link
The U.S. carrier launches daily service to Bangkok beginning October 26, opening direct access for American travellers to Thailand
United Airlines has announced the launch of daily flight service between Los Angeles and Bangkok beginning October 26, 2025, marking a significant step in strengthening tourism and economic engagement between the United States and Thailand.
The service will operate via a stopover in Hong Kong using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, offering seamless connectivity for U.S. travellers to Southeast Asia’s vibrant hub.
The route agreement follows the reinstatement of Thailand’s Category 1 aviation safety rating by the Federal Aviation Administration earlier this year, enabling direct pairings with U.S. carriers and underlining the Thai government’s broader ambition to position the Kingdom as a regional aviation and tourism gateway.
For the Thai tourism sector, the direct link is expected to deliver a meaningful boost by simplifying one-stop travel for North American visitors.
Industry officials note that improved air connectivity aligns with Thailand’s strategic objective to diversify its visitor source markets and elevate traveller experience through enhanced convenience and premium service access.
Beyond leisure travel, the new route supports Thailand’s aspirations to grow business travel, incentives, meetings and exhibitions (MICE) from the U.S., leveraging Bangkok’s infrastructure and resort destinations across the country.
Tourism authorities view the reinstated U.S. link as a platform for deeper cultural, educational and investment ties between the two nations.
While tickets and operational details are still being finalised, the announcement has already stirred interest among travel and hospitality stakeholders.
The success of the route will hinge on sustained demand from U.S. travellers and competitive scheduling among trans-pacific carriers, but it clearly signals a renewed phase of connectivity in U.S.–Thailand relations.
