Under a five-year mega project, Central Group announces a significant expansion of luxury retail space and new developments across Thailand.
Central Pattana Public Company Limited (CPN) has outlined an ambitious business plan to transform Central Phuket into a world-class shopping destination, announcing a budget of 3 billion Thai Baht for expansion.
This project will increase the luxury retail area by 20,000 square meters, marking Central Phuket as a landmark for tourists from around the globe.
Chinawath Uthavatanasak, President of Retail and Development at CPN, revealed that the company aims to develop several large-scale projects over the next five years, from 2025 to 2029. As part of this plan, CPN will continuously inaugurate various projects, including the Central Park in Bangkok, set to be a major shopping center on a prestigious address spanning 23 rai, with a gross building area (GBA) of 130,000 square meters.
Central Park is expected to open in August 2025 with over 230 global brands, including several that will debut in Thailand for the first time.
The Central Park will feature diverse Thai dining options such as Iberry Group and Michelin-starred street food offerings.
A separate office building, Central Park Offices, will offer views of Lumphini Park and is projected to achieve an occupancy rate of 80% in its first year, appealing to a wide range of industries including technology, pharmaceuticals, and logistics.
Central Phaholyothin will cover over 49 rai, featuring a flagship shopping center with a GBA of 460,000 square meters, designed to cater to new lifestyle demands in northern Bangkok.
Expected to draw high-quality shoppers from neighboring provinces, this project aims to establish a gateway for new market demand.
Additionally, Central Northville will arise as the largest mixed-use project in Nonthaburi, with a GBA of 210,000 square meters emphasizing biophilic design to enhance the natural atmosphere.
With a mix of retail, dining, and entertainment options, it is set to open in Q2 2026.
In Khon Kaen, Central Khon Kaen Campus will launch as the second central shopping complex in the province, featuring 67,000 square meters of retail space and developments including a new residential condominium and hotel, scheduled for Q2 2026.
Central Chiang Mai Airport intends to enhance the retail landscape with its new planning, covering 130 rai with a GBA of 173,000 square meters, and will include Muji’s first northern flagship store, a larger Indoor Local Market, and additional tourist attractions, expected to open in Q2 2026.
The Central Phuket project, recognized as a luxury mall outside Bangkok, aims to augment Phuket's status as a world-class tourist destination.
The total mixed-use project investment is projected to surpass 23 billion Baht, with the first phase of the luxury expansion anticipated to launch in Q3 2026. In Krabi, Central Krabi is scheduled to open in October 2025, focusing on sustainable and mindful travel.
The expansion projects, including transformations in key locations like Central Pinklao and Central Chaengwattana, reflect CPN's strategy to enhance shopping facilities in emerging areas with strong consumer demographics.
These developments will position Central Group as a leading retail destination while catering to the evolving needs of affluent shoppers in Thailand's diverse markets.
In an effort to foster partnerships, CPN has implemented The 1 Biz, a customer relationship management tool, enhancing sales for participating brands.
CPN is adapting to consumer behavior and demands, ensuring that their developments resonate with both local and international customers.
