The Thai Commerce Ministry, in collaboration with various government agencies, has launched an economic recovery initiative aimed at supporting small businesses nationwide.
Spearheaded by Commerce Minister Pichai Naripthaphan, the project seeks to alleviate costs for small enterprises and reduce the cost of living over a five-month period from September 2024 to January 2025.
This initiative includes plans to lower rental fees for market stalls and implement 'Commerce Markets' in all 76 provinces of Thailand.
In partnership with organizations such as the Defence Ministry, Interior Ministry, Thai Chamber of Commerce, and large retailers, the program focuses on offering discounted products and essential goods to the public.
The involvement of large manufacturers and wholesalers ensures additional price reductions and support for small businesses.
Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra is overseeing the launch and will address entrepreneurs in five key provinces, further highlighting the government's commitment to economic stimulation through this project as well as their existing 10,000-baht cash handout scheme.
