Investigations Launched Over Substandard School Meals at Rajaprajanugroh 47 School
The Basic Education Commission and the National Anti-Corruption Commission are investigating Rajaprajanugroh 47 School in Phetchaburi for substandard meals. The investigation began after photos of poor-quality and unsafe meals were posted online. The school may face disciplinary action if found guilty of negligence.
The office of the Basic Education Commission (Obec) and the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) have initiated investigations into the quality of school meals at Rajaprajanugroh 47 School in Phetchaburi after photos of substandard food surfaced online.
The probe follows a complaint by the Facebook page 'Watch Dog' displaying images of unsafe and low-quality meals.
One disturbing photo showed plain rice and deep-fried sausages still in their plastic casing, while another revealed undercooked pork in a noodle dish.
Acting Sub Lt Thanu Wongjinda, the Obec secretary-general, stated that the Special Education Bureau, led by director Phatriyawan Phannoi, inspected the school on Sept 25.
The school's explanation suggested the kitchen crew may have been unable to see clearly while preparing meals early in the morning, leading to errors such as cooking sausages in plastic casing.
If found guilty of negligence, the school could face disciplinary actions.
Samnan Meesiri, director of NACC's provincial office in Phetchaburi, also noted that the complaints could be tied to internal school conflicts, and has ordered a review of the school's budget disbursement documents.
