Mae Fah Luang Foundation Wins SX Shaper Award for Sustainability
The Mae Fah Luang Foundation has received the SX Shaper Award for its contributions to environmental improvement and community sustainability. Chairperson Thanphuying Putrie Viravaidya accepted the award at the Sustainability Expo 2024. Established in 1972, the foundation aims to enhance quality of life through self-reliance and has achieved significant environmental milestones.
The Mae Fah Luang Foundation has received the SX Shaper Award at the Sustainability Expo 2024 for its significant contributions to environmental improvement and community sustainability.
The award, presented by Sumet Tantivejkul, secretary-general of the Chaipattana Foundation, was accepted by Thanphuying Putrie Viravaidya, the foundation's chairperson.
Established in 1972 by Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, the foundation aims to enhance quality of life through health, education, and livelihood development, with a focus on self-reliance.
It has successfully increased forest area coverage to 90% and reduced greenhouse gas emissions by cutting energy use and increasing alternative fuel usage.
The foundation is working towards achieving zero carbon emissions by 2065.
