ONE Championship Vows Major Growth After Lumpinee Stadium Deal Renewed Through 2027

ONE Championship Vows Major Growth After Lumpinee Stadium Deal Renewed Through 2027

Thai promotion chief outlines expanded event schedule, fresh formats and deeper global ambitions following two-year Lumpinee extension
The global mixed-martial-arts organisation ONE Championship has reaffirmed its commitment to Thailand as its core operational hub following the renewal of its contract to use Lumpinee Stadium through 2027, its Thai president said.

In remarks delivered this week, Jitinat “Plai” Asdamongkol described the extension with the Royal Thai Army as a “very positive sign” that underscores ONE’s intention to continue investing heavily in Muay Thai and expand its footprint both domestically and internationally.

Plai emphasised that Lumpinee remains the sport’s most prestigious arena — “the premier institution … known around the world as the Muay Thai stadium of world champions and warriors” — and that ONE’s return solidifies the stadium’s global status.

He said the revived partnership has already contributed to revitalising Muay Thai in Thailand, helping raise standards and create a new generation of stars.

On the operational front, fans can expect at least the same number of events as in the previous year, with internal plans suggesting a possible increase in show frequency.

The deal covers continued staging of weekly Friday-night “ONE Lumpinee” cards, as well as “ONE Fight Night” events scheduled monthly on Saturdays — a format designed to reach both local audiences and international viewers, especially in overseas primetime slots.

The sustained commitment to Lumpinee follows a strategic shift by ONE to deepen its roots in Thailand.

Earlier this year, the organisation relocated its global production hub from Singapore to Bangkok, citing growing output from weekly Lumpinee events as the cornerstone of its content operations.

ONE has described the move as a milestone in its evolution as a global sports-media organisation, positioning Bangkok as the main production base for its expanding content output.

From a broader perspective, the agreement renewal is being viewed as a sign that Muay Thai’s global revival will continue — supported by ONE’s growing production capability and commitment to showcase the sport to new audiences worldwide.

The extended partnership is expected to provide stability for athletes, promoters and stakeholders alike, while offering Thai fans more opportunities to watch live high-calibre bouts.

ONE’s roadmap now appears to include new event formats, expanded show frequency, and intensified global outreach.

For Thailand’s martial arts community and the sport’s international fans, the next two years promise a packed, ambitious agenda rooted in the legacy of Lumpinee Stadium and the modern vision of ONE Championship.
