Power Buy Launches Summer Air Conditioning Campaign Amid Growing Market Demand

Retailer Power Buy initiates promotional efforts to boost air conditioner sales, citing significant market potential.
Power Buy has announced the launch of its summer campaign 'SUMMER ลดร้อนแรง แอร์ BTU ละบาท', aiming to stimulate sales of air conditioning units as the temperature rises.

The company expects that the air conditioning and electrical appliance markets will remain robust in the second quarter, bolstered by the government's EASY E-RECEIPT initiative, designed to invigorate economic activity.

Popular air conditioning units on the market include those with a capacity of 12,000 BTU, while premium consumers tend to favor units of 18,000 BTU and above, as well as four-way ceiling cassette models.

Sivaporn Samutthi, Senior Assistant Managing Director of Omni-Channel Purchasing at Power Buy, indicated that every summer corresponds with increased consumer interest in air conditioners, fans, and refrigerators, due to rising temperatures.

The overall market value for air conditioners in Thailand for the year 2024 is projected to exceed 32.1 billion baht, with peak sales occurring in April and May. Currently, the penetration rate of air conditioning units in Thai households stands at approximately 40%.

Given this data, the company perceives significant opportunities for growth within the Thai air conditioning market.

The key target demographic includes first-time buyers, customers seeking to upgrade, and those adding additional units to their homes.

The most sought-after air conditioning unit size is 12,000 BTU, which aligns well with the needs of modern families.

Conversely, premium consumers are focusing on units above 18,000 BTU and advanced four-way cassette models.

To meet the anticipated demand, Power Buy has collaborated with leading appliance brands to ensure adequate stock levels, particularly for popular models and the latest innovations.

Notable features of these products include PM 2.5 dust filtration systems, enhancing air quality, and inverter technology aimed at energy conservation.

Additionally, seasonal cooling products such as evaporative coolers, tower fans, and various refrigerator sizes are also experiencing heightened demand.

To further entice consumers, Power Buy is offering special promotions both online and in physical stores nationwide from today until June 7, 2025. Discounts of up to 70% are available, alongside an array of exclusive deals.

These include attractive pricing beginning at one baht per BTU, additional discounts of up to 5,000 baht on select models, a trade-in program providing up to 10,000 baht off when exchanging old appliances, and exclusive benefits for The1 members, allowing for extra savings of 12.5%.

Furthermore, customers can access 0% financing plans for up to 10 months and receive cashback offers of up to 40,000 baht with participating credit cards.
