Putahracsa Hua Hin Hotel Terminates Manager Over Customer Interaction
Manager Dismissed After Controversial Response to Guest Review
Putahracsa Hua Hin, a five-star hotel in the popular seaside resort of Hua Hin, has dismissed its general manager in response to social media backlash over his handling of a customer review.
The hotel announced the termination on its Facebook page, where they apologized to the customer and expressed the hope of serving her again in the future.
The controversy arose after the manager responded to a customer's Google Maps review in which she mentioned that guests must bring their own toothbrushes or incur a 20 baht charge for one provided by the hotel.
The manager's reply, which attempted to 'educate' the guest on the hotel’s green policy, explained that dental kits were not provided for free to support environmental conservation efforts.
The hotel's decision to cancel the manager's contract emphasized its commitment to accepting customer feedback with respect.
The Facebook post garnered over 400 comments and was shared more than 500 times, with many respondents suggesting the need for management with a more hospitable approach.
