Thailand Adopts "Value over Volume" Tourism Strategy and Lowers 2026 Foreign Visitor Target
The Tourism Authority of Thailand has revised its 2026 international arrival target to between thirty and thirty-four million visitors after a two point five percent decline in first-quarter arrivals amid global economic and geopolitical pressures. The agency is shifting its focus toward higher-spending luxury travellers, digital nomads, and longer-stay visitors with the goal of generating two point five eight trillion baht in tourism revenue through more sustainable and resilient growth.
