A parliamentary subcommittee has called on the government to accelerate the rollout of Direct Power Purchase Agreements, allowing multinational technology companies to buy renewable electricity directly from private producers. The move is intended to remove a key regulatory barrier to hyperscale data center and artificial intelligence investment and strengthen Thailand's competitiveness for high-value foreign investment.
