Thailand Women's Volleyball Team Targets World Championship Round of Sixteen
Thailand enters 2025 World Championship aiming for top sixteen after ranking drop and roster updates ahead of tournament.
Thailand’s women’s volleyball team is preparing for the 2025 World Championship, aiming to reach the round of sixteen following a drop in performance in recent competitions.
The team’s form declined during the 2025 Nations League, where they narrowly avoided relegation by finishing seventeenth, recording just one victory.
Their world ranking slipped from thirteenth to twenty-first.
In regional play, they captured the first-leg title in the ASEAN Championship but lost to Vietnam in the second leg, finishing as runners-up.
Coached by Kiattipong “Coach Ott” Radchatagriengkai, the squad returns key players from injury.
Outside hitter Chatchu-on “Bumbeam” Moksri is back after a shoulder injury, and middle blocker Wimonrat Thanapan has recovered from a finger injury.
Thailand will host the expanded 2025 FIVB Women’s World Championship, which features thirty-two teams and runs from twenty-second August to seventh September across four cities.
The tournament adopts a pool phase followed by knockout rounds, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the round of sixteen.
The World Championship offers Thailand an opportunity to re-establish form ahead of the pool stage and knockout rounds.
