Ayutthaya Historical Sites Shine with Art and Light
Nighttime Exhibition Celebrates Thailand's Glorious Past
To celebrate the historic significance of the Ayutthaya era, selected sites in Ayutthaya province are showcasing lighting art installations and projection mapping shows until November 17.
This initiative is a collaboration between Thailand's Culture Ministry, the Fine Arts Department, and other agencies.
The project, titled '4 Temples, 1 Palace of Early Ayutthaya Era', seeks to enhance nighttime tourism and draw attention to the rich arts, culture, and traditions of the early Ayutthaya period (1350-1448).
Part of the government's broader plan to boost tourism with 'winter festivals', this initiative involves illuminating four temples and a palace in Ayutthaya: Wat Chaiwatthanaram, Wat Ratchaburana, Wat Mahathat, Wat Phra Ram, and Chankasem Palace.
The lighting displays will be available from 6 pm onwards, offering visitors a unique insight into the ancient capital's historical allure.
