Thailand Police Warn of Possible Terror Attack Against Israelis at Full Moon Party

Authorities Issue Alert as Precaution for Upcoming Event in Koh Phangan
Thailand's police have issued an internal warning regarding a potential terror attack targeting Israeli tourists at the upcoming Full Moon Party on the island of Koh Phangan, scheduled for Friday, November 15. The event, highly popular among Israeli visitors, is expected to attract a large crowd, with estimates suggesting up to 25,000 Israelis may attend.

In response to the alert, security forces have been increasing their presence on the island, setting up checkpoints as a precautionary measure. Authorities have stated that the information regarding the threat is credible, although further details remain limited. Koh Phangan is famous for its vibrant Full Moon Parties, attracting tourists from around the world, particularly Israelis, due to its lively beach celebrations and colorful atmosphere.

This warning comes just weeks after a similar alert for Israeli tourists in Sri Lanka, where a terrorist cell was reportedly operating in the Arugam Bay area. Following the alert, three suspects were arrested, and it was later revealed that the plot was part of an Iranian-backed operation. According to the indictment, an individual named Farhad Shakiri was directed by a senior figure in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards to carry out a mass shooting targeting Israelis in the area.

The concerns over the safety of Israeli tourists abroad are heightened further following recent incidents, such as the disturbance involving Maccabi Tel Aviv fans in Amsterdam last week, which involved local Arab and Muslim residents.

We commend the Thai authorities for their professionalism and their well-trained security forces, who are dedicated to ensuring the safety of all visitors. Tourists, particularly Israelis, are strongly encouraged to follow the instructions of local authorities, as they are fully aware of the situation and the necessary precautions to keep everyone safe. Their expertise in handling such matters should inspire confidence as they continue to work diligently to protect all those attending the Full Moon Party.
